Our homeschool week in books

I really enjoy seeing Alexandra’s posts about the books they use in their homeschool. What a fun way to keep track of what you are reading in your homeschool. I thought I would do a post this week on what books we used.

365 Starry Nights– we read each daily section for the week.

Paddle to the Sea– We finished this! What a cute story.

Story of the World 3– We are almost finished with this book. We read two chapters this week.

The birds are all arriving in our neck of the woods.  We read a few chapters in the Burgess Bird Book for Children, then found their pictures in the Birds of North America and listened to their calls online.  I saw this idea on an instagram feed and thought it was a wonderful way to do bird study, I wish I could remember who posted it.

Mathematicians Are People, Too– We did a daily reading in this and are really enjoying the stories.  They are helping bring math alive.

Lives of the Writers– We read about Mark Twain.

These are our library picks this week.

We are slowly working through The Bone Detectives and John Muir.

Jack wanted to practice drawing, specifically cars.

The Encyclopedia of Classic Cars has been getting a lot of attention.

A Briefer History of Time– Jack has been reading and narrating this daily.

These are Jack’s personal reads.  He is working through Mossflower and The BFG. He read Primates one evening before bed.

What are you reading in your homeschool this week? Please post and share. I love finding new books!
